In taking this course you will learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude that is essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual's right to self-defense.

When you take this course, you will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

The cost of this course is $125 plus a small processing fee.  This fee includes the cost of classroom instruction and materials as well as instructions on the range and range use fees.   

You should have at least intermediate handgun shooting skills, have taken the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course and provide a copy of your basic pistol certificate at sign-in. Please contact the lead instructor for other ways to qualify to take this course.  You must bring a 9mm or 38 Special or larger handgun with at least 200 rounds of the appropriate ammunition.
